All these years later, no one is still any the wiser what happened to that poor child. But I so agree with everything you've written and also with the above comments about child neglect.Cosmic Craftshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09269528344881707063noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1197429752310795554.post-24315977864001929772008-01-17T08:21:00.000+00:002008-01-17T08:21:00.000+00:0017th Jan. 08Have just read this blog. Who on earth leaves the door to their children unlocked in a foreign place... if they leave them at all? You imply that the McCanns were involved - if M. died how did they get rid of the body? Very difficlt to impossible in a foreign country. If she didnt die but was handed over, or taken with their consent, then I cannot imagine such evil parents. And they visited the Pope....God help them if they were knowingly involved. We may never know, but whatever happened M was the innocent victim. God bless her poor little child.Faith https://www.blogger.com/profile/04672728248961388984noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1197429752310795554.post-43067914239970346552007-11-21T14:04:00.000+00:002007-11-21T14:04:00.000+00:00I agree with you on this McCann business but maybe...I agree with you on this McCann business but maybe I am in the minority amongst we Purplecoo folk. (I did broach the subject once in the Common Room) I am not accusing the parents but they are very, very odd. Chillingly so. Take a look on YouTube at the videos of them, there are a lot.
It is good to hear from you as you obviously know the place in Portugal intimately. Whatever comes of this case the parents ARE guilty of neglect, do you not agree? If it had been a single mum, working class or 'foreign' I think the public would take a different view. So many things don't add up. I feel so sorry for Madeleine.Cait O'Connorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04569760764766505179noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1197429752310795554.post-66889846197101182672007-09-23T07:49:00.000+01:002007-09-23T07:49:00.000+01:00I wonder what the outcome of all this will eventua...I wonder what the outcome of all this will eventually be? I wonder if we will ever know what really happened to Madeleine McCann?snailbeachshepherdesshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01397158758052413758noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1197429752310795554.post-66437678706650696832007-09-14T14:48:00.000+01:002007-09-14T14:48:00.000+01:00Such a difficult topic and one where I no longer k...Such a difficult topic and one where I no longer know what I think. Like Jane I hate the media circus and yet I of course find myself drawn into watching it all. Dreadful thing to have happened. Glad to see you back again though xxPipanyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04048984447721169350noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1197429752310795554.post-35419571013940773162007-09-07T17:55:00.000+01:002007-09-07T17:55:00.000+01:00Crikey, see what you mean. I was discussing this ...Crikey, see what you mean. I was discussing this issue with people today at lunch and several women said, 'how could they possibly suggest she hurt her child?' to which I replied that we simply are not in a position to know or to say that with any certainty. I do not know. I can't know. None of us can. I think the media campaign has been extraordinary and has muddied the water to some degree. I think our inclination is to want the mother to be innocent because the idea of a mother (and read in that 'nice middle class' mother) hurting her own child is too uncomfortable to handle. But it does happen - and many people who have appeared in tears on television, begging for witnesses, turn out to be responsible.
To be very honest, I try not to read too much about it. I hate media circuses and this has become one. Ah, a horrible business, it really is.
On a cheerier note - yes oh yes to Faure's requiem...one of my most favourite pieces of music ever.
Very glad to have you back.....and very keen to know how the campaign is going. jxxxxExmoorjanehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09230395732150659356noreply@blogger.com
