Huge fan of sunsets and there are some spectacular ones here over the bay, but there is something about watching them over the ocean. Belated birthday wishes to T12 now T13 (God, how this marks time!).

Pondside - hello again from far away! And that's the wonder of the sunset, isn't it? We watch it in one place, you watch it in another at a different time, but it's essentially the same the world over and draws people to stand and stare, time and time again.

TW - Hi there. Despite only recently returned from hols, I already feel they were months ago and therefore am suitably (albeit unjustifyably) envious of your upcoming trip to Nice and Cannes - love that side of France too, especially inland and when the crowds have subsided.

Ps: erm, why does the sun come out only AFTER the school holidays?Carah Bodenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11429666157453439321noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1197429752310795554.post-35064940695208925812009-09-11T23:28:07.103+01:002009-09-11T23:28:07.103+01:00Beautifully written post on your sejours en France...Beautifully written post on your sejours en France. It has put me in my French Mode, as we are heading for Nice and Cannes in two weeks time. We've watched exactly the same scene from the coast here and I always feel that little 'flip' at my core when the sun disappears.Pondsidehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02407539138546412482noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1197429752310795554.post-68599926150844461352009-09-11T13:04:12.220+01:002009-09-11T13:04:12.220+01:00Hi Mark - thanks as always for reading and for you...Hi Mark - thanks as always for reading and for your lovely comments. Yes, looks like we have some sunshine at last - certainly this week has been great, no complaints! Have been walking with my brother in Edale and Stanage Edge - fabulous. W...Fabulous as always - what a post to wake up to!

Which reminds me... as a child I lived in Northumberland and there the sun rises over the sea and sets over the mountains. I remember when I came to Wales thinking, 'oh of course, it's the other way round here' - obvious really, but in its way, an important change to the pattern of your life, helping you see things differently.

Which of course, is what holidays are all about too...

Enjoy the Peaks this weekend - looks like you might get some sunshine.

MarkThe bike shedhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05195882998271591934noreply@blogger.com
